The weather was beautiful, the performances spectacular … thanks to all who joined us at the SkirtsAfire, herArts Festival March 5 – 8, 2015. 2015 SkirtsAfire, herArts Festival Photos

MESSAGE FROM HOLLY TURNER
BOARD PRESIDENT

On behalf of the Board, I’d like to extend many thanks to everyone: curators, artists, technicians, staff, volunteers and sponsors for your generous contribution of time and effort – all of which made this year’s SkirtsAfire, herArts Festival a huge success. I would also like to recognize the fantastic work done by SkirtsAfire Festival Director, Annette Loiselle, in pulling together the programming for the event – sometimes under very trying circumstances. It is surely thanks to her tremendous effort that the Board can be so very proud of what the Festival achieved in 2015.

MESSAGE FROM ANNETTE LOISELLE
FESTIVAL DIRECTOR

SkirtsAfire HerArts Festival 2015. What a fabulous Festival this year. We exceeded all expectations with almost 900 attending the Festival, and over 1200 including the run of The Mothers.

The shows were entertaining, provocative, funny and moving; the bands, and singer songwriters stirred our souls; the art was exquisite; the workshops empowering; and life was breathed into new plays that will continue in their development. Audiences concurred, our new customized configuration of the Alberta Avenue Community Hall with an intimate black box theatre and a separate cabaret space was a successful innovation.

Thank you to all of you – our Audiences, Artists, Volunteers, Staff, Board of Directors and Sponsors. The list is long, and our gratitude is deep to each one of you who played an integral part in the success of our festival.
